Tribal artists across the Warm Springs Reservation have just days to submit their work for prize consideration in the 33rd Annual Warm Springs Tribal Member and Youth Art Exhibit — a deadline the Museum at Warm Springs wants to make sure no one misses.
Judged Entry Deadline: October 20
Adult tribal members (ages 18 and older) who wish to have their artwork evaluated by a neutral judge and be eligible for prize money must submit by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20. Judged categories include Traditional, Contemporary, Video, and Honorable Mention distinctions. Award winners will be notified directly by museum staff.
For both youth and adult artists submitting pieces intended for display only — not juried competition — the deadline is 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27. An application form must accompany all submissions regardless of category.
Youth Participation Encouraged
Youth artists 17 and younger are especially encouraged to participate. Separate application forms are available for individual youth, parents and guardians, and for teachers entering artwork on behalf of an entire class.
Last year's exhibition showcased the depth and diversity of Warm Springs artistic talent, featuring works such as Terry Lynn Stradley's Blue Flamez Logo beaded necklace, Mona Cochran's Ishaptikai horse bag, Natalie Kirk's ceremonial basket hat (KsKs Nukwshái Ayats Patlapa), and Jadrian Kalama's chalk pastel piece, Core of a Robotic Planet.
