Residents of Crooked River Ranch and the surrounding Terrebonne area won't need to make the drive to Madras or Redmond for their fall vaccines this year. Jefferson County Public Health is bringing a drive-through clinic right to the neighborhood on Thursday, October 22.
Clinic Details
The drive-through vaccine clinic will be held at the Crooked River Ranch Fire Hall on SW Shad Road in Terrebonne, running from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. No appointment is required — simply drive up and receive your vaccination on site.
Available Vaccines
- Seasonal flu vaccine — recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- High-dose flu vaccine — specifically recommended for adults 65 and older, offering stronger immune response
- Moderna COVID-19 vaccine — updated formulation for continued protection
Convenient Access for Rural Residents
Crooked River Ranch is home to thousands of residents spread across a large rural area west of Redmond and south of Madras. The community's distance from urban health facilities can make routine preventive care inconvenient, particularly for older residents and those without reliable transportation.
Jefferson County Public Health has made it a priority to partner with local fire stations and community facilities to bring preventive health services closer to residents throughout the county. The Crooked River Ranch Fire Hall is a central, accessible location for the community.
Getting vaccinated against flu and COVID-19 before the winter season is one of the most effective steps individuals can take to protect themselves and their families — especially in rural communities where hospital access can be further away.
What to Bring
Residents are encouraged to bring their insurance card if they have coverage, though vaccines will be available regardless of insurance status. Wear clothing that allows easy access to your upper arm.
For questions, contact Jefferson County Public Health. Additional vaccine clinic locations and dates may be announced for other parts of the county ahead of flu season.
