Jefferson County families with children in recreational sports have a new resource available starting today, June 23: the Every Kid Sports Pass for Fall 2026 is now open for applications.
The program provides financial assistance to help low-income families cover youth sports registration fees, removing a common barrier to participation in after-school and community recreation programs.
Who Qualifies
To be eligible for a Fall 2026 sports pass, a child must:
- Be between 4 and 18 years old
- Be enrolled in SNAP, Medicaid, or WIC
- Participate in a recreational sport (not elite or travel leagues)
- Have a season that lasts at least four weeks
A New, Easier Application Process
The program has upgraded its application system for 2026. Families can now manage everything from a single dashboard at pass.everykidsports.org. Key improvements include:
- No more daily cutoffs — the application stays open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Instant document review so families know quickly if they’re approved
- Easy status tracking through the new portal
Why This Matters for Jefferson County
Jefferson County has one of the higher childhood poverty rates in Oregon. For many families in Madras, Warm Springs, Culver, and Metolius, sports registration fees — even modest ones — can be a real obstacle to participation. Programs like Every Kid Sports remove that barrier and help keep kids connected to physical activity, teamwork, and community.
Youth sports programs across Jefferson County, from Little League and soccer to swimming and martial arts, typically have registration deadlines in late summer for fall leagues. Families are encouraged to apply early before fall enrollment begins.
