Young people in Warm Springs have a new summer option starting today: the Warm Springs Community Wellness Center is launching a free youth fitness program for the summer season, beginning Monday, June 22.
The program will run throughout the summer and includes one hour per day of fun fitness challenges designed for youth of all ages. The format is described as age-inclusive and activity-focused — the kind of daily engagement that can help kids stay active, social, and healthy during the long summer break.
For more information, residents can speak with Hamley at the Community Center directly.
Other Wellness Opportunities This Week
Today also brings a Tai Chi class from 6 to 7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. The class is free and open to all skill levels — beginners are welcome.
The Warm Springs Helping Hand Food Pantry is open today, Monday, June 22 from 12:30 to 4pm at the Presbyterian Church. Community members should note that due to a closure at the food bank last Friday, the pantry will not have fresh produce available this week. The pantry is also running low on bags — please bring your own reusable shopping bags if possible.
Fall Sports Passes Available Tuesday
Families with children who participate in recreational sports should mark their calendars: the Every Kid Sports Pass application portal for Fall 2026 opens Tuesday, June 23 at 10am. The program provides funding for kids ages 4-18 who are on SNAP, Medicaid, or WIC to participate in recreational (non-elite, non-travel) sports seasons lasting at least four weeks.
New this year: the application portal stays open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no daily cutoffs and instant document review. Families can manage everything from a single dashboard. Apply or learn more at pass.everykidsports.org.
School District Summer Programs
Jefferson County School District 509J is also accepting registrations for its three-week Summer Acceleration Program, running July 20 through August 6, 8:15am to 3pm daily. Transportation and meals are provided. Due to construction at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy, K-8 students will attend the program at Madras Elementary this summer. Register through the school district's website.
