Madras High School's biggest week of the fall is here. Homecoming 2026 arrives with a packed schedule of campus events, culminating in the induction of two new Distinguished Alumni on Thursday, October 8, followed by the Homecoming football game on Friday, October 9 at 7 p.m.

The White Buffalos football team heads into the week fresh off a Friday road game at Klamath Union — part of a busy stretch of October play in the Three Rivers League. The team returns home for the Homecoming matchup, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Madras High School.

Distinguished Alumni Class of 2026

Jefferson County School District 509J announced earlier this fall that two new inductees will join the Madras High School Distinguished Alumni program. Both will be honored at the Homecoming Assembly on Thursday, October 8 — a school-wide event — before receiving full recognition at Friday night's game in front of the home crowd.

The Distinguished Alumni program recognizes MHS graduates who have made significant contributions in their fields, whether in community service, business, education, the arts, or public life. The class of 2026 inductees will be announced at Thursday's assembly.

A Season in Stride

The White Buffalos have had a competitive fall on the gridiron, sitting at 4-1 in league play heading into October — good for third place in their conference. After the road test at Klamath Union to open the month, the team returns home hungry for a big Homecoming result in front of the Madras community.

Beyond football, fall sports across the district are in full swing. Boys' and girls' soccer, volleyball, and cross country teams have all been active through September, with athletes representing Jefferson County schools across the region at league and invitational events.

Homecoming Week Highlights

Homecoming week at MHS traditionally features spirit days, class competitions, and campus-wide events building to Friday's game. The community is invited to come out and support the White Buffalos — it's the biggest home game of the season.
