The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) handled a variety of incidents over the week of August 3–9, ranging from property crimes and warrant arrests to a domestic violence case at Crooked River Ranch and an impaired driver crash on Highway 97. The following are items from the official JCSO log. All charges listed are allegations, not convictions.
August 3 — Tractor Theft in Madras
JCSO deputies were dispatched to a report of a theft in progress involving a tractor. After investigation, Martin Anthony Leach, 65, of Madras, was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, second-degree trespass, third-degree criminal mischief, and aggravated theft.
August 5 — DUII Stop, Trespass Citation
Deputies initiated a traffic stop that led to the arrest of Heraclio Tangel-Melchor, 49, of George, Washington, on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), reckless driving, and reckless endangering.
A separate trespass complaint led to a citation being issued to Papa-Mamadou Diop-Crossfield, 37, of Bend.
August 6 — Foot Pursuit, Multiple Charges
In the early hours of August 6, a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Simone R. Leclair-Danzuka, 38, of Madras, on charges including an outstanding warrant, giving false information to a peace officer, escape, eluding on foot, and resisting arrest.
August 7 — Wanted Subject Located in Madras
A JCSO deputy located a wanted subject, Ulysses Jefferson, 41, of Madras, within city limits. Jefferson was taken into custody on an active Jefferson County warrant.
August 8 — Domestic Violence Arrest at Crooked River Ranch
A deputy responded to a reported domestic violence assault at Crooked River Ranch. Following investigation, Victoria Cole, 37, of CRR, was arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment.
August 9 — Impaired Driver Crashes on Hwy. 97
JCSO deputies assisted an Oregon State Police trooper after a suspected impaired driver crashed off Highway 97 north of Madras. Details on the investigation and any charges filed were not immediately available.
