May 18
A deputy responded to assist with a traffic stop. Robert Hatlestad, 27, of Warm Springs, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.
May 19
A deputy took a report of an assault near Madras. A suspect was identified. Separately, a deputy responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 west of Madras; the driver had left the scene before law enforcement arrived. A vehicle was also located in connection with a Madras theft, and the suspect was arrested by Madras Police Department.
May 20
A joint operation by Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) detectives and Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputies resulted in a traffic stop in Terrebonne. K9 Keira alerted to the odor of narcotics from the vehicle. A search found commercial quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.
An SRO deputy also investigated a report of a minor in possession of alcohol; the juvenile was issued a citation.
May 21
Maria Nazario-Silverio, 30, of Bend, was arrested during a traffic stop near Madras for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. A dog bite citation was also issued to an owner in the northeast sector of the county for public nuisance per county ordinance.
May 22
A welfare check on two unconscious individuals on the side of Highway 26 near Rainbow Market led to the identification and arrest of Cyril A. Frank Sr., 52, of Warm Springs, on an active misdemeanor warrant from Sherman County.
Deputies also responded to a burglary in progress. Benjamin Boynton, 47, of Madras, was arrested on a serious set of charges including first-degree attempted burglary, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping, possession of burglary tools, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
May 24
Deputies responded to Three Rivers for a disturbance involving a firearm. Forest Dandridge, 23, of Welches, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and second-degree disorderly conduct. In a separate incident, Benjamin Boynton Jr. was arrested for contempt of court for violating a no-contact agreement.
A driver on Highway 26 west of Madras was cited for speeding and driving while suspended; the vehicle was impounded.
