The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs have a busy August calendar, with a community powwow on tap for tonight and enrollment now open for next year's Early Childhood Education program — two events that underscore the tribe's ongoing investment in cultural tradition and family wellness.

Drummers Jammz Social Powwow — Tonight

The August Drummers Jammz Social Powwow takes place this evening, Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Warm Springs Community Wellness Center. A community potluck kicks off at 5:30 p.m. in the social hall, followed by the powwow itself beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the gym.

The monthly social powwow is a beloved community tradition, bringing together drummers, dancers, and families from across the reservation in a relaxed, informal setting. All are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share for the potluck portion of the evening.

Early Childhood Education Enrollment Now Open

Families with young children have a time-sensitive opportunity: the Warm Springs tribal school system is now accepting enrollment for the 2026–27 Early Childhood Education Day Care Program. Enrollment is being handled through the Brightwheel platform.

Two separate admission packets are available depending on your child's age group:

  • Infant/Toddler Admissions Packet — for the youngest children
  • Strider/Pre-school Admissions Packet — for preschool-age children

Families can also contact Tiana Northrup directly at 541-553-3241 for enrollment details or assistance with the application process. Spots in tribal early childhood programs tend to fill quickly, and families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure placement for the fall.

Back to School Barbecue Coming in September

Looking ahead on the Warm Springs community calendar: the annual Warm Springs Back to School Barbecue is scheduled for 4–6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy. The event is a long-standing community tradition welcoming students and families back ahead of the new school year.
