June is shaping up to be one of the busier months on the Jefferson County community calendar, with events spread from Madras to Warm Springs to Metolius. Here's a look at what's coming up — mark your calendars.
Early June
- Great Madras Community Dine-Out — All day, June 4. Participating restaurants donate a portion of their day's sales to the Madras Community Food Pantry. Details at madrascommunityfoodpantry.com.
- First Thursday Street Fair — 5–8 p.m., June 4, downtown Madras. Food vendors, live music, and shopping.
- Bridges High School Graduation — 5:30 p.m., June 5, Madras football stadium.
- Culver High School Graduation — June 5, Culver High School gymnasium.
- Madras High School Graduation — June 7, Madras football stadium.
- Crooked River Ranch Clean-Up Day — June 6, 8 a.m.–11 a.m. Free day at the limb dump (brush and limbs only, membership card required). Annual shred day 10 a.m.–noon at the old Fire Hall. Tire recycling 8 a.m.–4 p.m. at old Fire Hall (small truck and automotive tires only).
- Festival of the Land — 10 a.m.–2 p.m., June 6, The Cove Palisades Crooked River Day-Use Area. Free admission and parking. Hands-on activities, demonstrations, vendors, and live music. Call Ranger Erin Bennett at 541-977-5759 for more information.
- Madras Saturday Market — Every Saturday through September 5, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., Sahalee Park. Artisan goods, baked items, handmade products, and food.
Mid-June
- WAK-9 Service Dogs Benefit Dinner — 4–8 p.m., June 9, Desert Inn. Silent auction, raffle prizes. Proceeds support WAK-9's service dog training for veterans and first responders. Info at wak9training.com.
- Taproom Talks — 5:30–7 p.m., June 10, Over the Edge Taphouse. This edition features Capstone Accounting and Tax.
- City Administrator Meet-and-Greet — 6–7:30 p.m., June 10, Initiative Brewing, 715 SW 4th St., Madras. Meet the three finalists for Madras city administrator. Free and open to the public.
- Ninth Annual Car Show — June 13, Indian Head Casino. Classic and custom vehicles on display at the reservation casino. Contact Indian Head Casino for details.
- Made in Jefferson County Tour — 8:30 a.m.–noon, June 18. An EDCO-organized tour of local manufacturers and agricultural businesses. Confirmed stops include Central Oregon Seed, Inc., Keith Manufacturing, and Poland Organic Dairy. Tickets at eventbrite.com.
Late June
- Legends Reloaded Rock Festival — June 19–20, Jefferson County Event Complex. Two days of tribute bands covering Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, Heart, Tom Petty, and more. See full coverage at madrasbulletin.com.
- Madras Rock and Gem Show — Opens June 23, runs through June 28, Jefferson County Event Complex. A popular regional attraction for collectors and enthusiasts.
- Mt. Bachelor Kennel Club Dog Show — June 25–28, Jefferson County Event Complex.
- Pi-Ume-Sha Treaty Days — June 26–28, Warm Springs. The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs' annual celebration commemorating the 1855 treaty, featuring traditional dance, food, a rodeo, a parade, and community gathering.
- Metolius Summer Kick-Off — 8 a.m.–2 p.m., June 27, Metolius Train Depot and Desert Inn Bar and Grill. Pancake breakfast at the depot, lunch at Desert Inn. Free family fun with kids karaoke at 10 a.m., live band 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m., silent auction, games and prizes.
