Jefferson County is going all-in for Halloween this week, with a packed lineup of community events stretching from Warm Springs to Madras.

In Warm Springs

  • Haunted House: The Warm Springs haunted house takes over the old grade school building on Friday and Saturday nights, opening at 8 p.m. and running until midnight both evenings.
  • Zombie Costume Walk: The Recreation Department’s annual Zombie Costume Walk starts Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Community Center walking path. Come in costume and join the fun.
  • Family Trunk or Treat: The Community Center hosts its Family Trunk or Treat on Halloween Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the front parking lot. This year’s theme is Addams Family 2—prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated trunks.
  • Campus Trick or Treat: Warm Springs Health & Human Services invites families to trick or treat at the Campus Pavilion on Halloween from 4 to 6 p.m. All vendors are welcome to set up booths.
  • Indian Head Casino: Trick-or-treaters are welcome outside in the casino parking lot on Halloween from 3 to 5 p.m.
  • Warm Springs Baptist Church Harvest Giveaway: Saturday at 4 p.m., the church will give away free towel sets and bed sheets (while supplies last), along with candy, warm cider, and a family-friendly movie in the sanctuary.

In Madras

  • Haunted House by Youth in Progress: The SriPonya Collective is running a haunted house today through Thursday at 29 SE D Street in Madras from 4 to 6 p.m. each day. A great option before the weekend rush.
  • ECE Pumpkin Costume Parade: Families are invited to the Early Childhood Education Center this Friday for the Pumpkin Costume Parade, starting at 9:45 a.m. in the front parking lot, followed by trick-or-treating at 10 a.m.

Red Ribbon Spirit Week at Warm Springs K-8

Warm Springs K-8 Academy is observing Red Ribbon Spirit Week in recognition of the dangers of drug use. This year’s theme is “Make a Difference – Be a Hero – Stay Drug Free.” Tuesday is Wear Bright Colors Day; Wednesday is Wear a Team Jersey Day to team up against drug use.

Whatever your plans, Jefferson County has no shortage of ways to celebrate Halloween safely as a community this week.
