Jefferson County enters the week of June 22 with a packed community calendar, significant government decisions on the horizon, and an urgent fire safety situation demanding attention. Here's what's happening across the county this week.
Monday, June 22
- Free Youth Fitness Program begins at the Warm Springs Community Wellness Center. One hour daily of fun fitness challenges for all ages, all summer long. Contact Hamley at the Community Center for details.
- Helping Hand Food Pantry open 12:30–4pm at the Warm Springs Presbyterian Church. Note: no fresh produce this week due to food bank closure. Bring your own reusable bags.
- Tai Chi at the Community Center aerobics room, 6–7pm. Free, all skill levels welcome.
- COCC GED class begins at the Madras campus, 6–7:20pm. Continuing Mondays and Wednesdays.
Tuesday, June 23
- Warm Springs Tribal Community Energy Fair, 9am–3pm, Campus Pavilion. Free meals, energy exhibits, home efficiency giveaways, raffle prizes, information on Tribal energy projects. Open to all.
- Madras City Council meeting: The Council is expected to vote on a final employment agreement with Brenda Fahey for the City Administrator position. The meeting will determine whether Madras gets its first permanent city administrator since January.
- Locally Nourished produce pop-up at the Madras Community Food Pantry (370 SW Culver Highway). Free, locally grown produce — meet the farmers. First in a monthly series running through October.
- Every Kid Sports Pass Fall 2026 application window opens at 10am at pass.everykidsports.org.
Wednesday, June 24
- One-Day Solar Training, 10am–2:30pm, Greeley Heights Community Building. Free. Learn about solar energy and career paths in the industry. Register with Janaya Brunoe at janaya.brunoe@wstribes.org.
- Health Fair at the Warm Springs Community Center, 9am–1:30pm.
- Open Rodeo entries close for the Pi-Ume-Sha Treaty Days Open Rodeo. Message the Warm Springs Ranch Rodeo Association on Facebook or call/text 541-460-8687.
Thursday, June 25
- Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Holiday — Treaty Day.
- Tribal Council Treaty Day BBQ, starting 11am at the Community Center Pavilion. Tribal Council serves hamburgers and hotdogs until the food runs out. All are welcome.
