Madras is gearing up for one of the region's most anticipated summer events: the Airshow of the Cascades, returning to the Madras Municipal Airport on Friday and Saturday, August 28–29, 2026.

This year's show is set to be a standout, with the U.S. Navy's elite F-18 Growler Demonstration Team confirmed as the headline act alongside the Patriot Jet Team — an internationally known civilian aerobatic team known for its synchronized high-speed maneuvers.

What to Expect

The two-day event is more than just aircraft. Attendees can expect:

  • Live aerobatic performances throughout both days
  • Static aircraft displays featuring rare, vintage, and unique planes
  • A classic car show
  • Live music
  • Food and vendor booths
  • Family-friendly activities

The show has long been a highlight of the Central Oregon summer calendar, drawing visitors from across the region to the high desert skies above Jefferson County.

VFW Raffle — Drawing at the Show

The local VFW post is selling raffle tickets ahead of the airshow, with the winning ticket drawn during the event. Proceeds support youth programs and scholarships. Tickets are available at the chamber office or from any VFW member.

Pilot and Aircraft Registration Open

Pilots and aircraft owners with rare or unique aircraft are invited to fly in and participate in the static display. Registration is open through the airshow's official website at cascadeairshow.com.

The Madras Municipal Airport, situated at roughly 2,400 feet elevation with wide-open views of the Cascade Range, provides a dramatic backdrop for the show. On clear days, attendees can spot Mount Jefferson, Three-Fingered Jack, and the Three Sisters on the horizon.

Gates and parking information will be announced closer to the event. For updates, follow Airshow of the Cascades on Facebook or visit cascadeairshow.com.
