Warm Springs community members are invited to roll up their sleeves this Saturday for a volunteer clean-up effort on the reservation.

The Warm Springs Gospel Church is organizing the event for Saturday, May 23, with the goal of cleaning and sprucing up a reservation building that has been in need of attention. Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate.

According to an announcement from KWSO 91.9 FM, the event is framed as an opportunity to "help Mother Earth and do some good for the Warm Springs Reservation" — a community effort ahead of the busy summer season on the reservation.

Get Involved

Events like this reflect the deep tradition of communal work and stewardship that characterizes life on the Warm Springs Reservation. Community clean-up days bring neighbors together, improve the physical environment, and strengthen the bonds that hold the reservation community together.

For more information about the event — including the specific building location and any supplies to bring — community members can contact the Warm Springs Gospel Church directly or listen to KWSO 91.9 FM for updates and announcements.

Looking Ahead

The clean-up comes just one week before two other major community events on the reservation:

  • May 27: Ribbon cutting ceremony for 10 new homes completed on Kalama Lane in the Tenino area
  • May 30: Traditional installation ceremony for newly sworn-in Warm Springs Chief Rafael Queahpama at the Simnasho Longhouse

It's shaping up to be an active and meaningful couple of weeks on the Warm Springs Reservation as the community marks new leadership, new housing, and renewed community spirit heading into summer.
