The Madras High School White Buffaloes hit the road this Friday, October 3, for a league football game at Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The trip south to Klamath Falls is among the longer road hauls on the Buffaloes' schedule — roughly two and a half hours from Madras — and the kind of away game that tests a team's focus and depth heading into the second half of the regular season.
A Season Built on Experience
Madras entered the fall with a core of returning players from last year's squad that finished 4-5 overall and earned a third-place finish in league play. Head coach and staff have leaned on that experience as the Buffaloes work through a challenging non-conference slate before their league schedule heats up.
The team dropped a tough non-conference game to Phoenix (Ore.) on September 11 before traveling to Douglas in Winston on September 18. The October 3 matchup against Klamath Union marks a key stretch for the program as standings begin to take shape.
Volleyball Also in Action
The White Buffaloes' volleyball team is also in the thick of its fall schedule. Madras volleyball is set for a home match on October 1 before the football team departs for Klamath Falls, giving Buffaloes fans a chance to catch both squads in a busy week of fall sports.
Boys' and girls' soccer have also been active, with both programs logging matches through September against Intermountain Conference opponents.
