Mark your calendars — the Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo is just around the corner. The annual tradition returns to the Jefferson County Event Complex on Fairgrounds Road in Madras from July 22 through July 25, 2026, promising four days of agriculture, western heritage, family fun, and community pride.

The fairgrounds span more than 50 acres and have hosted generations of Jefferson County families. From livestock competitions to carnival midways, the fair is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Central Oregon.

What to Expect This Year

Homestead Tours

The Jefferson County Historical Society will offer free tours of the Farrell homestead house and early-day schoolhouse at the fairgrounds from 1 to 3 p.m. daily, July 22–25. Board members will offer antique car rides between the main grounds and the schoolhouse — a rare chance to step back in time and experience Jefferson County's pioneering roots.

4-H and FFA Exhibits

The fair has always been a showcase for young agriculturalists across the county. Livestock shows, project exhibits, and competitions give area youth the chance to display months of hard work in front of neighbors, judges, and family. It's one of the highlights of the agricultural calendar for Madras, Culver, Metolius, and surrounding communities.

Carnival Rides, Live Music & Fair Food

The midway will be in full swing throughout the event, with rides for all ages. Live music and entertainment are scheduled across the four days, and vendors will be serving up the classic fair foods that make summer in Jefferson County so memorable.

Free Snowcones in the Park

Cool off at the free snowcone giveaway happening 12 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 23 — a popular tradition for fairgoers young and old.

Rodeo Action

The rodeo component of the fair celebrates the working cowboy culture deeply woven into Jefferson County's identity. Events typically include bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, and more. Check the Jefferson County Event Complex for the full rodeo schedule and ticket information.
