The Museum at Warm Springs is asking the community to show up for one of Jefferson County's most treasured cultural institutions. The museum's annual Membership Drive is now underway and runs through Monday, August 31, 2026, with organizers reaching out to partners across Central Oregon to help spread the word.

Memberships start at just $25 and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Members can join or renew online at museumatwarmsprings.org or by mailing in a form included in the drive materials.

What Members Get

Beyond supporting the preservation of Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs heritage, members receive access to the Oregon Historical Society Reciprocal Membership Program — free admission for a member and three guests to a different Oregon museum or attraction each month. That's 12 museum visits across Oregon per year, on top of free admission to the Museum at Warm Springs itself.

Lillian Pitt Exhibition on View Now

Visitors this summer can also catch Lillian Pitt: Art, Memory, Home, a major exhibition featuring the work of celebrated artist Lillian Pitt (Warm Springs, Wasco, Yakama) alongside pieces from her personal collection and affiliated institutions. The exhibition runs through Saturday, October 10, 2026. A 96-page illustrated catalogue is available at the museum for $30 (Members receive an additional 10% off).

The Museum's mission is to preserve, advance and share the traditions, cultural and artistic heritage of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and other Indigenous peoples.

Community Partners Lending a Hand

A broad coalition of Oregon organizations is helping promote the drive, including the Jefferson County Arts Association and Art Adventure Gallery, Madras Downtown Association, Madras Saturday Market, and KWSO 91.9 FM Warm Springs Radio — all familiar names to local residents.

The museum opened in 1993 and was built to Smithsonian Institution professional standards. It remains one of the most significant tribally-owned cultural museums in the Pacific Northwest, and its financial health depends on community support — from Jefferson County and beyond.
