The Portland Trail Blazers are coming to Madras next week. The team's 12th annual Rip City Rally — a nearly 350-mile community tour across Central Oregon — will make a stop at Madras City Hall on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The free public event, co-hosted with Moda Health, is open to all ages and requires no registration. It will be held at Madras City Hall, 125 SW E Street.

The community fair features:
- Trail Blazers personalities and player appearances
- Games and prizes
- Health resources and information from Moda Health
- A local donation presentation to the Kids Club of Jefferson County
The Kids Club provides after-school and summer programming for Madras-area youth, making the donation a direct investment in local children.
Full Rally Route
The Rip City Rally travels across the region over five days:
- September 14 — Bend
- September 15 — Prineville
- September 16 — Madras and Warm Springs
- September 18 — Sandy
Each stop includes morning school visits before the afternoon community fairs open to the public. The inclusion of Madras and Warm Springs as a combined stop reflects the Trail Blazers' effort to reach rural and tribal communities that don't typically see major sports organizations come to town.

Organizers say the Rip City Rally is designed to bring team spirit, wellness resources, and community connection to corners of Oregon that rarely host events of this scale. There is no cost to attend, and no tickets or advance sign-up are needed — just show up.
The Madras stop runs from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16 at Madras City Hall. Parking is available on site.
